Nice clean tabs and tongues

I finally got the chance to use this. I had to cut some 15/32" slots to fit the 1/2" plywood. Following the instructions on the body liner, I placed the left outer knife, 1/16" washer, 1/8" chopper, .020" and .012" washers and the right outer knife. I set the height and fence and started the Cutting poplar results were excellent. The slot width was perfect and the 15/32" plywood fit perfectly in the slot. The edges were perfect and the bottom was flat. There was a slight tear when it came out…

Great dado stack! for saw blades, parts and accessories

Does what it should! It cuts shallow and precise grooves. Honestly I feel like I stole the deal! Like I found a flea market run by a cheating husband's wife and it's all a special red tag! The Diablo (also by Freud) is meant for the average man, retails for around $100, and is exchanged at Home Depot or Lowe's. The SD208 set should also be good for the average woodworker, but you can see there's a big difference in materials and finish, and the cuts are a lot better than the Diablo. Don't risk…

Blades loosened twice. I REALLY tightened them. My other dado works fine

Two things. I bought this product some time ago in January. I live outside the US and use a carrier to ship the items I order to me. I haven't had a chance to use this set to date as I had another dado set installed and working. Finally the temptation to try. The blades came off twice. The first time I turned the saw off after noticing a different step while cutting. Examining the blade, I noticed the nut was loose and some teeth were missing small bits of carbide from the edges. I tighten the…

Excellent set for the price

Excellent set. It's measured in a few thousandths if I'm hitting anything over 1/4 inch, just on the small side, so I have to hold on to it. The small size chart is damn close and easy to use. The packaging/storage is a plastic case that works great. I wish there were instructions but basically it has pads on one side with blades and then pads on the other side with choppers. quite an awful noise on my table saw when it's running. Disadvantages: - The surface that is cut when using the notch…

My first dado stack is a Guardian!

This is my first set of dado blades. This is on my 10 inch Ridgid 4512 table saw. I installed the blade and increased it to 3/4 inch as I believe that is the maximum width I will be using for the cut. It cuts superbly when paired with the Leecraft Zero Clearance Insert. I find the cuts pretty flat. in the end, like many other reviewers on the subject. The photo of this item is wrong. It's actually silver, not black. The big store "Big Orange" sells the exact same blade, but they are red and…

Good choice for a groove set

After much searching and searching for a groove set I finally settled on the Freud SD208. Remember my personal kit for the last 30+ years has been the Craftsman Kromedge 8" Satin Edge groove set, which wasn't too bad at all. still saw plywood, but the hardwood looked as if I would cut my dado with a torch! We had a nice 10" Freud set in our shop but I'm retired and no longer have access to them. My top priorities when choosing a replacement were: 1) good carbide, 2) good clean cut and flat…

C'mon Saw Blades, Parts & Accessories people

Do yourself a favor and line up this stack like someone who wants to get it right first time. Place the stack on the cast iron table saw. Assemble the stack as indicated. Then lay down the actual or cut board or panel you are going to cut to resist the cutters. Feel the perfect match. Carbide content too high, add shim. Too low, remove one. As you line up the stack, measure your pads and find the combination that gives you three thousand more than it just was. In most cases, this method will…
