Inexpensive, covers most common failures with no heat

When my Whirlpool LG7681XSW3 dryer stopped heating I did what most people do - I asked online. It turns out there are a number of components that can cause this problem if they fail and three of them are included in this kit. In my case, the problem turned out to be a faulty gas coil. Since the igniter and flame sensor were the same age, it made sense to swap them out while I was disassembling the dryer. All elements fit and work without problems. For less than $30 and less than an hour of my…

PREVENTATIVE REPAIRS IN THE DRYER

I installed all of these three parts in a gas dryer because it's 10 years old and if you're already in one that old you should do as many maintenance upgrades as the Area you work in as much as possible to protect yourself from future problems I think. It turned out that it really only needed (2) two gas coils, but the gas glow starter is very fragile and was damaged during disassembly, so it was replaced as well. Now the dryer works like new. TIP: When I take apart large equipment for a repair

Bought because of the flame sensor, died in a week

The name speaks for itself. My old flame detector tested open circuit with a multimeter so I bought this kit thinking I had some spares. Fitting it into the KitchenAid KGYE870BWH1 was easy, the small panel on the underside is all you need to remove to do this as long as you have the right tool for the small screw that holds the flame sensor to the burner tube. The replacement is complete, after a week the dryer did not shine. This time the flame monitor was NOT open but the igniter stayed on…

  • Good product for its price

Gas Dryer Repair Kit

It looks like the "flame sensor" I have in this multi-part repair kit could be bad because I did a resistance test before replacing it and found that it's 7.2 ohms ohmic, not 0 ohms (or very close to zero as I observed in the troubleshooting tutorial video), so I didn't install that particular part because I didn't see a potentially faulty one when troubleshooting this dryer wanted to introduce part. However, I installed a few coils and my dryer was properly repaired, it's working again and a…

The MATERIAL a 30 year old dryer will eventually need!

Good value for money, easy to install and should last, hopefully will last! My Whirlpool dryer was part of a housewarming/wedding gift set. 10 years ago it was the main workhorse and only needed a thermal fuse. When I realized that the laundry wasn't drying and the thermal fuse was still working, I ordered this package. I watched a few informative videos and then installed each of these parts. The igniter failed initially, but I see no reason to reopen the dryer when the parts present are…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Negative gift
