I used it as a quick disconnect for the electric trolling motor I use on my kayak. I realized that was his intention. It melted and was so hot it could set something on fire. Should work well for products that use less juice.

I needed one of these to connect the charging cable. This allows you to safely connect the battery to the boat. It's much easier and more reliable. These are good solid 10 gauge cables. I don't know if I'll ever use the other four.

I use these to connect 12 volt devices like a transfer pump to one of the Li-Ion batteries/power packs. Manufacturers offer adapters that connect to power supplies that are matched to the "trolling motor" connector that these pigtails fit into. I've also used them to convert some 12v fishing lights to a low voltage transformer. Handy for low voltage applications where you need a plug.

My fault but didn't see it was 10 gauge wire until they arrived. It never occurred to me that these types of connections aren't roughly the same wire gauge. In hindsight I think most I've seen are probably 16-18 gauge? I'm not sure I would use this type of connection for something that requires 10 gauge wire. If you need heavy duty wire and hard wires aren't a problem, this seems like a good option. But for those who want a more typical wire size, I think they offer that too, maybe not Prime.

I bought 5 packs advertised as 10 gauge separators. See a photo of this wire (two on the right) next to a real 10 AWG wire (on the left). This is definitely not US 10 gauge wire. (common standard) They are 10 gauge of an unknown reference. There is only one measuring system, otherwise wires are measured by cross-sectional area or by diameter. definitely a misleading description and the seller admits it. To update. I'm not sure I received the same products as the reviewers who left 5 stars because they are of very poor quality. Connectors require a lot of work to connect and disconnect. I even had to use pliers on a pair of metal pins to get them into the hole. The picture is very accurate, you can see the gap between the connectors about before they are connected.
