worked about 3 weeks. After writing this review as bad, I was contacted by a company offering a refund or a new light. I opted for a replacement bulb, hoping there was a one in a million chance of getting a defective bulb. I've upgraded my rating to 4 stars based on the support team's responsiveness. I liked the backlight but the power supply is broken. It only got worse after 6 months. I originally bought two so I was able to verify if it was the problem by turning them off and making sure the lights were still working. I tried to find a way to contact the seller but couldn't. Very disappointing. Dissatisfied with post-purchase support. I encourage others not to buy this product.

Works great but doesn't like the blue LEDs. I removed them with a soldering iron as they made my aquarium look too blue. Also, it's too strong for small tanks. Mine is heavily planted with pressurized carbon dioxide and works great after removing a few LEDs. If CO2 and fertilizer don't work for you, this thing will explode your tank of algae, so be careful.

Shines brighter than I expected. I bought a pair to update my old fluorescent hubcaps from the early 1980's. I cored the old 2 foot caps and screwed them to the caps through the adjustable legs. Quickly removed and re-soldered the power wires so I could route them through the holes in the hoods. With the new LEDs, the fish looks much brighter. I have a 36 gallon front tank. My standard tube bulb blew and I went to petco for a replacement. The replacement bulb on the one you just bought has already burned out. Another consumer sent back a defective bulb and I was unlucky. Tired of wasting time on trips to the Petco, I ordered this lightbar for myself. I bought the 24"/16W version of this light. I love this light and it works great but I'm only giving it 4 stars because it works for my particular setup has. This is a great slim low profile flashlight. It is installed on my 23.7" 9.1 gallon rimless aquamaxx tank so I would definitely recommend this rimless and open tank light. It is awesome ,super bright.I divided this tank into 3 sections for my bettas and chose this light so they would have even light throughout the tank.But it was so bright
