DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA FOR CHILDREN

When we first bought this camera it seemed perfect in every way. Beautiful picture, easy to set up and easy to use app. Then "noise" started. About once a day, without warning, a loud ringing ring will come from the cell itself, in the room where you placed it. It's loud enough to wake anyone in the area. I hope this review helps others. This is a good camera for the price. Picture quality is ok, not the best in the world, but the manual really needs improvement. The instructions just say "Download App", which isn't very helpful. If you are looking for a yi app, there are several. It took me a day to realize I had downloaded the wrong app after not being able to connect my camera. The RIGHT app is the Yi IOT (Digital Camera) app, not the Yi Home app which comes first. Pros - The picture quality of the camera is amazing! The application is normal and understandable. Cons - Motion detection was terrible! He will pick up a leaf moving in front of the window but not my cat that is walking and pooping on the floor. Me or my husband never picked me up when we were walking past or in the room we used it. Terrible setup at first, it took me a few tries to connect and send notifications properly. I contacted the company and got a response to try turning it off and on

The camera itself is not bad. Biggest complaint - doesn't rotate smoothly. Something inside must be rubbing because it makes a grinding/scratching noise so loud that the camera image is shaken like an earthquake. That's all about the "hidden" camera. But I would like to give negative 5 stars. You don't have to sign. to a premium cloud service (at a low price of $149.99 per year!), but without it the camera is virtually useless. I love this product. I can control its movement from my phone. I can move and rotate it in the app. You do NOT need an SD card or cloud storage. Whatever he sees sends you a free push notification to your phone with a short video of what he saw. I have this device on the windowsill and pointed at the front door. Peace of Mind - Dome Cameras

The first camera I was given worked fine the first day, then on the second morning I switched back from night vision and something went wrong. The light in the room was bright pink. I tried contacting the seller and went back and forth for about a week trying to fix the problem. Anyway, I was tired of going down that route so I contacted Revain instead and got a new camera the next day which worked great. Lesson learned - just go to Revain first.
