Shaper better than a router table

A friend of mine bought one of these two years ago and he still talks about how well it works. I purchased one a couple of weeks ago and I am absolutely thinking of dumping all 3 of my router tables. All of my router tables are aluminum cast top with extension wings and all have 2hp routers. But I must say that even though this shaper is rated at 3/4 hp it has more than enough power to do the job.It can be set up for a shaper bits or for router bits.   • This machine can be quite noisy, which could be a problem if you're working in a shared space. If you're not careful, you could end up disturbing your coworkers or neighbors

faster speed for small bits

The speed is a little slow for smaller router bits. If you can find a 1.75 inch diameter pulley for the spindle this will put the rpms close to 12,000. Much better. The pulley is a metric one with a 17mm bore. Not easy to find. I turned my pulley down on my lathe and am very happy with the rpms now. The smaller bits work much better. It would be nice if Grizzly would include or offer a smaller pulley for using smaller bits with this unit.The Slot in the table is a little wider than 3/4"…
