Great reviews, the only review you need

Isolate You can say this is the only knife you want and need. Nothing else is better. Only buy these. Use a hot glue gun and make your own storage sheet. Make sure it stays sharp. I cut out small pieces of 6" mineral wool and other insulating materials.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • Unbelievable Price

Tool you want to use to cut mineral wool

This tool is excellent. She went through the mineral wool like butter. I also bought a serrated electric knife (for butchering) from the internet on recommendation, but I never took it out of the box because this knife did everything I needed and more. If you are going to cut mineral wool, you need this tool because it is very easy to use.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Little things

The grip is a bit small and fades after about 8 packs of R-15. I don't know if that's typical, but I plan on buying more than one of these if you have more than 8 packs. When new it worked fairly well but it was like slicing a chicken with a bread knife towards the end, lots of scuffs and jagged edges.

Insulation Saws: Blades, Parts & Accessories

When you need to cut insulation you need the right tool to cut it. This tool was as described. My husband showed me how to hold it by putting his pinky, ring and ring fingers through the hole in the handle and using the index finger on the outside for guidance and holding the thumb on the other side of the handle. (I've seen complaints that the grip hole wasn't big enough, but I think some didn't understand how to hold it.) Works. What's not to like?

Cuts mineral wool cleanly much better than "cheap " blades

I was very surprised at how much better this knife performed compared to an unnamed, very poorly made insulation knife from a major department store. It has several advantages over this knife and some over bread knives: 1. It has a pointed end for clean plunge cutting.2. It's very sharp, cuts with very little tearing - even in GRP insulation! 3. The handle is actually much more ergonomic than I expected. I only see two areas that can be improved. Any bowl would be great. Climbing stairs with…

Not suitable for R-30

May be suitable for cutting R-15, mineral wool, but has serious problems with R-30 (which is much thicker). useful, 3 fingers fit but tight (issue applies to all types of insulation)* handle shape forces user to hold it in a certain position, not very flexible (issue applies to all types of insulation)* blade too short to pass through the Butt to cut whole, breaks some wool (may work well for R15, doesn't work for R30, not sure if it will be a problem for R23) * The blade is not strong enough…
