🧵 Gutermann White Thread 2-Pack, Item #4337016807 Review

I have been sewing for 52 years and have 9 sewing machines. I can use a needle and thread. When I first encountered Gutermann yarn many years ago during a machine demonstration in a small sewing workshop, I was captivated. Nice stitching, no problems with tangling, tearing or fraying. The Gutermann thread behaves exactly as you want it to. no problem.

I was pleased that this yarn arrived so quickly as white yarns are hard to come by and Gutermann is a great brand. I received 2500 meter spools of Nu-White color 20. This is definitely not an all white yarn. It appears slightly greyish-pink to me, especially when placed on white Gutermann thread. But for my purposes it's enough if I don't take on the task of sewing a lot of things out of really white fabric. So I keep it.

It's a very gray "white" - NOT bright white as I was expecting, but it also has a strong weird mothball smell? I can't say enough good things about this thread. To give a better idea. The thread was wrapped in a small, very thin plastic bag, knotted at the top, and then wrapped in bubble wrap. The envelope it arrived in was simply saturated (in fact I smelled it before even opening the bubble envelope) with what I can only describe as a very strong smell of mothballs emanating from the thread…
