Great for cataloging books!

I have this ISBN barcode reader in my book collection. Using this reader with book database software worked without any problems. Simplified registration of almost 2000 books! Well made and easy to use. Great price and great product.

It's a simple device

Anyone looking for a simple and convenient scanner without drivers and additional software will like it. Just plug in the office, notepad, access or excel spreadsheet and open it to scan the information that has a barcode and is available. I use it to scan hard drives and other devices serial numbers into an inventory excel spreadsheet and it worked fine.

Just connect and scan!

Do not configure, install or configure anything! Just plug in the USB port and start scanning. I've tried commercial barcodes, particularly with ISBN book numbers. Works perfectly. It scans the number and automatically inserts a newline character, creating a list with a number on each line in a text editor such as Word, TextPad, or Notepad. Remember that when scanning to Excel, the cell must be formatted as text for the number to display correctly. This isn't a scanner issue, it's an Excelโ€ฆ

Not as good as I had hoped.

I am buying this scanner for work. I first contacted our technical support to see if this scanner met my needs. you said yes This works for most barcodes, but there's about 10% when I scan barcodes (which are 6-digit numbers starting with 6) that are filled with a 10-digit number starting with 2. For that 10% I have to enter the number manually which defeats the purpose. I have no idea if there is tech support as there was no information in the box. Not sure about battery life?

Perfect and smart little product

Purchased to scan barcodes on the back of gift cards for church fundraisers. Bought two scanners in case one fails at some point. Both worked great right out of the box. Very easy setup - just plug in the cable; one end into the scanner - the other end into the USB port of the computer. The software is initialized and the scanner is ready for use.
