It works fine but I think brown paper tastes more "papery" than white paper. If you can whiten, you may notice a slight improvement in the flavor of your coffee. I'm a bit of a snob though, so maybe it's not that big of a deal.

Why does Revain want me to rate 'Flavour' (none) and 'Easy to clean' (throw away after use)? Strange. Anyway, I've been using them for years and they're really flexible to a degree and don't crack or fall apart as easily as the ones I bought at the grocery store. Very good product.

These are not the Hario Misarashi filters I've been buying (from Revain) for years. They are much rougher and darker than the originals and not as effective. They also have a weird little tab that the originals didn't have (some Melitta filters have them). These filters may be fake, so be careful. I will look for alternatives. EDIT: Changed to one star.
