If you turn it off, the fan will keep running until the temperature drops to 100°C so you don't damage the heating element. So keep it running, don't turn it off when it cools down, you're a maniac! I like that it's easy to use, but I don't like how long it takes the lead to melt. I used it on a mid 2010 MacBook Pro i7 logic board. I am impressed with the quality of this heat gun. The PID control system offers very precise temperature control, it seems. When you turn on the unit, the digital display quickly counts down the exact set point, then stops immediately (see attached video).
