HHIP 3901 5033 Collet Chuck Diameter Review

I liked the diagram in the photo description. Without it I wouldn't have known it would fit my lathe. I have a Grizzly G0765 7x14 mini lathe which is the same size as many Chinese mini lathes. This is a piece of metal, difficult to stain and HHIPP has done a good job. Fits perfectly on my mini lathe (Grizzly G8688), works great with ER32 collets and has the accuracy you would expect from a collet. A few notes. First, there is no wrench setting on the chuck itself for tightening the collets, and everything really needs to be tightened. I have a Sherline lathe and mill and the standard face plate that comes with the lathe is too small for this chuck. The chuck will not mount directly to spindles that have both a #1 Morse taper (female) and a 3/4-16 (male) thread. I think this cartridge would be much better if the baseplate wasn't so massive. In any case, you will need an additional adapter to mount it on the spindle. I used the HHIP 3" HHIP Backplate Adapter to do this. However, these two items are not ready to be combined…
