simply plug and play. I agree with other reviewers that it would be nice if the fork could rotate 180°. This is a beautiful unit, however I had to plug it in backwards due to the polarized '_' plug. I bought one for my house and one for myself. Workspace, I'm not sure how well "Air Purification" works yet. It operates audibly but quietly, and the blue light on it is very soft, not overwhelming to me. The device does not emit any smell/aroma yet.

This little portable air purifier is a cute little gadget for my home and office. I bought 6 of these (4 for home and 2 for office). They work quietly and look good in the socket. I do my best to limit the amount of bacteria and viruses in and around my environment. The units were well packaged but 2 out of 6 units arrived with broken filaments resulting in me spending an additional $15 to replace the bulbs.

I'll start with the positives: I think the unit works as advertised and the UV lamp has a small air inlet (fan?) to blow air around the lamp to disinfect it. Because UV-C requires direct contact with light, it may not be the best way to clean the air in an entire room unless the air is circulated at a much larger scale.
