Looks like we have a marriage - this scanner should read QR codes, beep, but never download data to the computer(s).

Works great with 1D and 2D barcodes. I just plugged it into my USB port and when I pulled the trigger it scanned the barcode information into my Windows app. It works like a keyboard, so wherever you type, you can scan a barcode and it looks like you've "typed" the information on your computer.

Works amazingly well. This is the first branded scanner I've bought and it's well worth the extra money. Ultra-fast scanning - almost reads your mind. I bought it to scan driver's license and it works without any problems! The only downside was that I had to program it to make it work. I didn't do what I needed to correctly decode PDF417 driver's license 2D barcodes and UPC codes.
