Good and Very Bad

In the winter I walk 2-3 times a week on firm snow and ice and need some kind of grip. These grips would get 5 stars from me if they lasted more than a month, but they don't. Of the 2 pairs of ICETrekkers I recently purchased, 3 broke while wearing them in the conditions they were designed for. A broken cable is very frustrating, especially when I'm relying on not slipping off. Once they're broken, they're trash. And at $40 a pair, I'm done with this brand and wouldn't recommend them unless you

Absolutely disappointed

Provides excellent traction in the variety of snow and ice conditions we experience in the winter here in New Hampshire. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the product's lack of durability, which is the reason for the rejection. Mine only lasted two seasons, the breaking point was at the back of the heel where the load went through the plastic bearing and the chain link pulled right onto the cable. I have been very careful with their care and maintenance, rinse them after each use and let…

I like the quality of the goods, but the size does not fit! Do not buy! !

I didn't like the size chart and thought it was too small! I will not order another pair at this price. I ordered the correct size medium 7-10 ladies. I. Tenth magnitude. My Columbia boots are ruined now as they were so tight I couldn't get them off without the help of someone stronger. By the way, Columbia boots are also of high quality. In doing so, they deformed the boots and caused internal problems with the sole. I had to buy another pair of boots! I hope the company will give me credit so

Broke after limited use

Bought 2 pairs of these one for me and my husband. We didn't use them much last season because we had more snow than ice, but this year it was crazy. Snow, then melt, then ice, over and over again. We've both worn them a lot this winter, sometimes just to go out the front door to the car. The husband makes probably 5 trips a day back and forth in the driveway to feed the goats and chickens. No, we haven't "properly cared for them" by drying them after each use as that would be labor intensive…

Everything rusted after one season

Bought last year. They work great on ice. I walk a lot on the back streets of my small town, and I like it on icy road days. I've tried many pairs and these were my favorites. I probably wore them about 20 times last year. I just pulled them from the plastic container at my house where they have been stored since last March. I made sure to wash and dry them thoroughly and put them away. They're all rusty. All metal spikes are rusty and look crappy. I paid a lot of money for it and expected…

First impression and 1 year update

So finally I could use them. Here there were icy sidewalks after the storm. They held my feet very well and adhered very well to the ice, allowing me to walk at a normal gait. You helped a lot! The only thing I noticed is that they wear out pretty quickly on concrete. I walked about 5 km in total. Probably 2.5 miles on firm snow and ice and 2.5 on concrete base. I don't drag my feet to keep them from slipping on the floor (I think that wears them out very quickly). I came home and just took…

ICETrekkers/Yaktrax Diamond grips and sizes

I don't normally write reviews and wouldn't after using a product only once, but I do because others can be similarly confused , just like me. . I ordered ICETrekkers Diamond Grip and received Yaktrax Diamond Grip. The box is different but the cleats are exactly the same as the ICETrekkers except mine are Yaktrax marked. Further confusion - I went to my local REI to get a traction device after having a bad slip on icy trails recently; They weren't my size at ICETrekkers (which I was interested…

Diamond Grips are your best choice

If you live in an icy area, consider buying a pair of ice stabilizers for your shoes. They are great for keeping you upright and injury free. I have tried different models and I like the diamond handle best. I will make a comparison for and against the models I have tried. I use them for normal walking, mostly on concrete or asphalt. Diamond handle Advantages: Excellent stability. Of all the models, the most comfortable for walking. MANUFACTURERS DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT THESE PRODUCTS BE WORN…
