Although the item clearly states that it is IPS 1/2", it will not work with the female IPS inlet for my new Peerless faucet. I brought the item and the faucet to my local plumbing store and they checked that the peerless part had the correct threads and this part didn't.It was almost right as I could connect a water supply hose to it but it was very loose.I could only fit a half turn into the faucet inlet insert and didn't want to use force and damage the faucet so it's going back.As usual…

I sent the first one back as soon as it arrived. I thought someone else sent them back because two nylon washers were missing. The company replaced it after two days which is good but the washers were also missing when it was replaced. There are no instructions, so after looking at the picture I assumed that the nylons should protect the rubber washer. Instead of sending it back I bought and used two stainless steel washers. When connecting a stainless steel sink as a freestanding unit there are inevitable problems connecting a faucet. The faucet likely uses a 1/2"-14 female NPT thread designed to connect to a hard threaded fitting. However, the flush hoses use a type of compression fitting that requires a straight thread rather than a tapered thread. This item solves the problem almost, but doesn't really.
