What don't you like about King? 🔪

Exactly what I expected. I received a genuine King KDS double sided brick which arrived safe and sound. If you look at this product, you already know what it is, how valuable royal stones are and if you have never used them. - Yes, it works exactly as you would expect and as seen on YouTube. I've been using it weekly for several months and it's holding up great, making my blades the sharpest I've ever had and I still don't see any visible wear. This is a great entry stone that doesn't come…

Love ultra smooth stuff, not cheaper ones that have a grainier feel

For years I kept my knives sharp (probably not dull) with a steel sharpener. I bought two stones, this King KDS and a cheaper option (you might recognize the same set of stones offered by several sellers in the $30 price range). The KDS stone feels much smoother than the $30 stone despite being a slightly higher grit (3000/8000). To be honest, I had a lot of fun learning how to sharpen knives. I spent several hours watching videos trying to master my technique. I started with KDS 1000, then KDS

absolutely good product!

I highly recommend, do not buy other cheap bricks even if they have a higher number. I previously purchased the 3000/8000 brick (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G2ZNBS4/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) from Revain. Cheap, only $20. But it doesn't work. Figure 3 shows a microscopic image of a knife sharpened with an 8000 side of this stone. You can see this is not good. During sharpening, you may feel that the particles are not the same size. At first I thought my skills weren't…

Worked great for me the first time.

Received and used today. My first whetstone. It worked great. I soaked the 1000 side for 20 minutes and the 6000 side for 10 minutes. If you soak the 6000 side for more than 15 minutes it will likely become too rich to function properly. I used it on a knife and it was great. I could actually hear the stone's feedback and knew when the knife angle was right. Yesterday I sharpened this knife with sandpaper and sharpened it with sling and grinding paste and then it passed the paper test. However,

Quality stone recommended

Very good stone for quality steel. I use it for my kitchen knives around the house. Unless you're a professional and don't sharpen your knives almost every day, this is all you need for your good knives and they will last you for a long time. I use it for knives with a hardness in the Rc 55-62 range. Burrs form quite quickly on hard steel. Unless your knives have been abused and don't need a full overhaul, the 1000 grit side will push your knives to the limit and create burrs fairly quickly. My
