🔧 KG5462 Gas-a-Just Gas Shock by KYB Review

No more nervous driving on the freeway. Small potholes and bumps in the pavement no longer bother the truck's suspension (or lack thereof). I'm so glad I was finally able to replace those old shock absorbers.

Perfect for the rear of a '98 Tacoma. Really improved handling and overall smoothness. I have driven about 55,000 km since the last installation. Even during transport, I like to keep my driving behavior and handling "under control”. Good brand, very satisfied. If you have 55000 or more on your car, replace the shock absorbers and marvel at your new 'ride'!

They were easy to install, I can't imagine it being easier. Couldn't be happier once installed, the fronts weren't installed yet, but the shocks practically raised my entire truck 1-2 inches, mostly because the shocks I removed were completely removed. They definitely had more room to bounce or stretch than any other shock I've installed.

I have bought two cars with the same model number. They came with rubber bushings painted silver around the edges. They were in excellent condition. The exchange took me 30 minutes. The only tricky part was cutting the ribbon so they could lengthen and they stretched faster than I could put them on the bottom tie. I just lifted the truck a little more and pushed it full. They changed the driving comfort of my old truck.

Shock absorbers were tightened upon receipt. The passenger side was the perfect length and went straight. The top nut looked more convincing as the new bushings were definitely stiffer. The driver's side was a bit short so I had to cut the strap to stretch it fully. It took some effort to compress it to the right length. As with the passenger side, the top nut required some persuading to reattach. Overall very happy with the purchase and the price. Expect a better ride as the original shocks…

These are perfect for a 2004 Tacoma Xtracab 4WD 6cyl 3.4. I blew one of the series shocks and the other one didn't look so good. Using Bolt Buster's thermal induction tool to remove the bolts made the installation VERY easy. I first attached the shock absorber to the UPPER piece, cut off the strap and just pinned the bottom piece to secure. Having just bought and installed them how could I give them a true rating and an honest review. I also bought front struts (KYB Gas a just) but haven't installed them yet. I'm excited and looking forward to installing the front struts to see how much better my truck's handling will be. I didn't change the suspension at all on my 2002 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner 3.4L.
