EASY TO INSTALL - Even for Grandma!

Moving to a new house (not new but new to me). The kitchen had two double fluorescent lamps (Circline). One lamp had both bulbs burned out, the other worked perfectly. Appreciated the new Circline bulbs and decided to try these LED replacement bulbs. I bought warm white. I'm a grandmother in my late 70s and could do everything myself. Very simple and very happy with the amount of light and the ease of installation. Two weeks ago another Circline fluorescent light went dim and I found another…

REQUIRED conversion required for any T9 fluorescent lamp!

This item was perfect for transforming two types of T9 ceiling lights in my house. Extremely bright and the difference is very clear. The description says the color temperature is 6000K, but it feels like it's in the mid 5000s because the white doesn't appear "bluish" like real 6000K LEDs. I've converted 4 lights with ease . Easy retrofit, just make sure you turn off the main switch before attempting this! The color of the connecting wires does not matter since it is LED. I've tried both. I…

Great product but get the warm version.

Good product. My only complaint is that the plug for the house wiring is a bit flimsy and comes off easily, which is dangerous. But overall it works as promised. The nifty little magnetic shifts are so steep that I'll try to save them for something else when I put this contraption away. However, there are a few things you should be aware of. First, these lights don't have as much spread as fluorescent lights, so the shadows are more defined and the room looks a bit different. In addition, the…

Not Ready for Primetime

I have previously purchased Silverlite 8.5" PCB size, 10.2" overall size, LED upgrade kit, ceiling fan motor for about the same price. I tried this new replacement light only to find out it didn't fit. The biggest problem is that the 110V power cords are just too short. Also, the wires should not be inserted into the standard 3/8" threaded lamp tube without some sort of grommet - the wires can fray and short out, especially at the fan. But there are other problems too. The LED flashlight…

Much brighter than my old double Circline with a nice warm white light

Overall I am very happy with this unit (warm white version). I had to modify my old steel mounting plate to make this swap work, but it was worth it. If your ceiling tile has mounting clips for old fluorescent lights, you will need to remove these to allow the new assembly to be mounted level with the magnets provided. I used a dremel with a cutting wheel - it took about 2 minutes. Or you can drill out the clamp rivets. Attaching the new knot was fairly easy. It simply snaps onto the magnetic…

Cheap and functional. (but not for long!)

Edit: The lamp is struggling now, almost exactly a year since I bought it. I have adjusted my rating accordingly. The round twin bulb fluorescent lamp (T5/T9) in my pantry has been a problem since I installed it 8 years ago. I installed it because I was tired of replacing incandescent and CFL bulbs in a cheap Edison plastic light fixture that the contractor originally used. Unfortunately, the circular lamp had a habit of "eating" lightbulbs. At $10-15, it got expensive to replace both bulbs…
