Great if you need a CD/DVD drive!

Works great, plug it in and go! I've used it on many systems and haven't had any problems with it. The only thing stopping it from being a five star device is that the cord is a bit shorter than I would like. The packaging itself was thin cardboard and I was able to get down to business quickly.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Having problems

Bundled with drivers on DVD (snort)

Also the DVD with drivers and software is included with the drive (if Windows doesn't have drivers they can be downloaded but it still seems someone - someone emailed you instructions on how to check your email), it works great! I wish the USB connector was longer, but it fits nicely in a floppy drive for storage.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Waiting time too long

I like it. It cost money to get it.

works with my Lenovo computer. I like it. It costs money to get a good DVD burner. Now I hope I never have to buy one again. As this is the second DVD burner I have bought. The other was cheap and I got what I paid for as it didn't last more than three months.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Nothing

Good player: External components

I was looking for a DVD player because I had some discs to watch or throw away. This item worked exactly how I hoped it would and was easy to put into play - very intuitive. Many Thanks.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Weak

Compact and gets the job done

So far so good. I returned a cheaper DVD burner and used this Lenovo with a new Lenovo Carbon X1 laptop. I used it to install and just burned a 6GB video DVD to a dual layer disc with no hiccups. I like how the USB cable is hidden on the back of the drive. It's nice and compact, but I wish it had a slim travel case.

Pros
  • Optical drives
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Seems a bit slow. - External Components

I'm using the drive to convert audio CDs with EAC to FLAC and it works, but definitely slower than the drives I've used in the past for the same operation. That wouldn't be a problem if the price was lower. I specifically bought this item at an above-average price because it fits my existing Lenovo Thinkpad and I assume that it will be perceived as higher quality. It might be of higher quality (time will tell) but it's definitely slower than other suggestions and for that reason I'd look…
