Update: After 6 months of continuous use, I'm still satisfied with the monitor and the picture quality. Watching YouTube videos in 4K is still cool. I don't have a 4K TV so this is my ATM with a 4K screen. I made a change to my setup and installed a $20 Koopman 4K HDMI automatic switcher between the monitor and my sources. Using a physical button to switch sources is simply outdated. I think LG should just build that feature into the monitor. I've been playing around with this screen and I…

    Good screen / terrible firmware

The screen is sharp and bright, and colors are surprisingly vivid for a VA panel. It's good if you manage to set it up correctly and if it works correctly in your setup. Some of the choices made and the layout of the software (menus) don't make sense to me. For example, if you disable HDR on HDMI, you also disable 4k60 and disable free syncing for EACH INPUT. That's right, you can't disable HDR on HDMI1 and then play a game with free sync on the Displayport input. Enabling Freesync on the DP…

    Very helpful for productivity

This is my third monitor or LG TV. I like other brands too, but LG still offers good quality at a reasonable price. Others are good (Samsung, Dell, HP) but tend to be higher. And you can see where LG cuts a few corners to save money on price. Monitor stands are generally not the best, and their power cords are terrible (see below). But if you want a good panel, this one is fine. I've only had it a few days so can't comment on durability yet, but for the price it's a huge upgrade over my old 23"

A good STARTER 4k monitor with good color reproduction for the price.

Pros: The color palette is good and scales up well. Good gray uniformity (except for edges, see cons). The price is very good for the size and overall quality. Beautiful design with thin bezels. Supports freesync for some games. Good simple joystick and menu system for settings. Cons: The Edge's LED lighting design leaves a lot to be desired. The display is only 60Hz. HDR is a joke. There's no true HDR rating for the monitor as it's only limited to 350 nits and edge backlighting. HDR just means

Great monitor but the stand wobbles.

The monitor works great and does everything that is advertised. However, the stand it sits on swivels the entire monitor from side to side when you just touch the keyboard, making it feel like you're watching your computer during a mild earthquake. Especially if you're good at typing and ever hit the mechanical key, your screen will shake more than Scooby-Doo during a puzzle. I solved this problem by tucking the empty pill boxes under both sides of the monitor, but when they are moved the…

    Good monitor, but bad stand

Can't complain about the picture quality - a monitor of this size and picture quality for this price is excellent value. Note, however, that the stand is not height-adjustable and has a very limited tilt range. If you want more flexibility with positioning (and most people do), you'll either need to buy the height-adjustable 32UN550 ($30 more) or buy a third-party VESA 100mm stand for $25 instead. Many third-party stands offer even more height and angle flexibility. Some mount to a table…

    Good ergonomics in my opinion

I use this monitor for home CAD and office work and I like it for several reasons. Its height and inclination can be adjusted. There were no dead pixels, the connection is good. It even has built-in speakers. If you are connected via HDMI to a PC with an Nvidia graphics card, you may need to go to the Control Center and set the Output Dynamic Range to Full. This was not necessary on my Lenovo laptop. The correct settings were automatically adopted. The image quality is almost the same as the…

    Save the monitor for me...

I'm old and my old eyes can't see well on my two 24 inch LCD monitors. They had good resolution, but by the end of the workday I had eyestrain. I was in a real office recently where they were outfitted with these LG monitors and I ordered one of mine before the end of the week. The text was so sharp and so large that even a full page of 8.5 x 11 text could be viewed, or two pages side by side. After several weeks of use at home, I can also see much more comfort for the eyes at the end of the…

Beautiful display - BUT three caveats!

This monitor has an absolutely amazing picture. The 4k resolution gives you plenty of space to view code, markup, images, text, games, movies and whatever! Super bright. My three biggest complaints: - Power on/off and adjust ANY setting with a single button press on the bottom edge of the bezel under the LG logo. Like a four-position switch that you press to select something. Only it's at the bottom of the bezel and about 1/4 inch around, so you're trying to push up, back, front, whatever, and…

    An affordable 4K monitor.

Bought as a secondary monitor primarily for media viewing (along with office use and light gaming) and does all of those things well. You could probably find better options for each of those individual use cases (e.g. games where you want 144Hz or higher and maybe IPS instead of VA), but if you're looking for a balance between different content types I'd be heavy. pressed to find a better option for this low price. I can't comment on the stand as I have it on my monitor arm. Otherwise I would…

    Suitable for most things

I bought two of these monitors for my work computer. They work pretty well, the included HDMI cables work but are a little annoying when you move them around. The brightness is good, the resolution is stable and the frame rate at 60 Hz is not bad. (HDMI2 connector on the back). A very good screen for work, spreadsheets, websites and everything you need. And the price is around $300 per screen. Little things are missing like a limited tilt/elevation of the monitor. It doesn't rotate on the base,

    Absolutely gorgeous in every way

The 32UN550-W is an amazing device. Without exception the best monitor configuration I have ever experienced. I bought two of these to use with my MacBook Pro M1 at work. With 4K 60Hz via HDMI, the picture on the screen is great. So easy on the eyes. The satin screen finish does a great job of eliminating glare. When I set them to the HDR Effect picture mode, they are bright and rich in contrast, with amazing color and clarity. The height adjustable stands are well built and elevate the screens

    Great picture, lousy speakers

I'll start with the good: the picture and ease of setup are excellent. However, the speakers are good. I was specifically looking for a monitor with good speakers. I read in the review that it has good speakers. no The speakers of this sound are made of tin. They hurt your ears, and the joystick for changing the volume is just a stupid setup. If you need decent speakers for your monitor, look elsewhere.

Bought the top 2 in my rating

When you replace two 24-inch 1080p monitors in a dual monitor stand, those monitors are HUGE. Maybe they are too big for my desk (3 x 5 feet) - I'm too close to the screens. I can run it on Windows with 8 Word documents per screen (4 columns, 2 rows) and read each one - it's a little tricky to arrange like that, but it works great. Switching between menus and inputs is a bit annoying - switching between two computers takes 3-4 clicks and shutting down takes 2-3 clicks. Sound is okay, but the…

Blurred edges due to narrow viewing angles

I decided to switch from a dual monitor setup to a one large monitor setup for a cleaner home workspace. This is also my first 4G monitor and came highly recommended. I also went with 4k because I thought I could fit 4 software blocks on the screen, one in each corner and do the same thing with a large screen what I did with two smaller screens and a much higher quality image receive. The built-in speakers were also a big plus for the clean look. The problem seems to be that with a large…

The colors are washed out. Viewing angles are bad.

This monitor came with a 5 inch power cord that was too short to reach an outlet. Black color just looks gray on this monitor. Colors are washed out. The default color settings are bad. You'll have to go into the settings and tweak them to make the picture look better, but there's nothing you can do to get really sharp, realistic colors. This monitor is good for document editing, but definitely not for image or video editing. Viewing angles are poor, meaning colors aren't as good at the edges…

I have this for my formal office and 32 ergo (IPS panel) for my home office. There is a difference and while this monitor is good I would like to upgrade to a higher quality IPS panel. Excellent brightness, colors (especially blacks), very crisp text (when using a MacBook). The monitor controls and menus are also designed to be extremely efficient.
