Excellent router; works as advertised.

The E4200 v2 was a great purchase. I was looking for a dual band wireless N router (currently running WRT160N which works fine) to boost 2.4GHz signal strength and add 5GHz video and game streaming capabilities (Netflix, PS3 and XBox); In both cases, the E4200 offered exactly what I was looking for. The 2.4GHz signal increased both strength (from 3 lanes to 5 lanes) and distance by 50%, while the addition of 5GHz improved video streaming and gaming quality. The only criticism I have of the…

The router does not deliver the specified speeds.

EDIT. Skip that router and buy ASUS RT-N66U. I bought it and I have 95-99 mb/s on BOTH channels. Can't recommend enough. I bought this router after reading many reviews online about a router that can deliver the 'fastest' wireless signal on the market. I came across this model several times and it was sold at 300Mbps at 2.4GHz. I knew that 5GHz wouldn't give me much range due to the size of my house and I was right. I pay for 100Mbps download speed and get it when connected directly to my cable

Short range and difficult to set up

This N series wireless router replaced the Linksys WRTG54. I should have kept the old one as it had more range and was easier to understand and tweak. This new gadget uses a "cloud" interface and automates many settings. I'm not an engineer or even particularly knowledgeable, but I can read instructions and test different settings. I spent about an hour and a half with tech support from the Philippines to get the wireless connection working. Everything worked for me out of the box, but suddenly

Save $$$ compared to EA4500

Just ordered this and waiting for it to arrive but thought I'd share that this router is the same as the more expensive EA4500. In fact, you can update the firmware on this one with the EA4500 firmware and get the same router for less money. This should save you some money as they sell off their leftover stock. UPDATE: I received the router installed and running the Cisco Connect cloud firmware available from Cisco, there is no need to flash the EA4500 firmware as they have made the cloud…

If you are interested in parental control/access control. .

is not the router for you. I originally bought version 1 of this router and it was great (you can't get version 1 anymore, not even from Cisco). I need to limit my kids' internet access at times, especially in the summer when I'm at work. When setting up this router, I was very surprised to see what a big step back they took in accessibility features! So, with the new design, you can no longer choose which hours of the day you want to restrict, instead you can choose from a limited range. As I…

Has stopped working after 3 months, support says "very bad "

I bought this Linksys Maximym Perf N900 router on September 12, 2012. It was easy to plug in and get started and did the trick for my 5 wireless devices in my house and a good Netflix streaming stream. December 15, 2012 I couldn't connect any of my devices (the router just turned off out of the blue. Nothing was done or changed), I ruled out the modem because I could connect it 'wired'. " and get great internet access. I called Linksys for help as this product has a 1 year warranty. They said…
