Incomplete Product Description - Not Recommended

When I bought this item I thought it could be installed on any SUV cross member but it doesn't. Due to the leg hole design, it will only fit a bar of the same width. Also, despite the fact that the seller claims shipping is free, as a buyer you still have to pay for the return postage, which is unfair. The cheapest way to send back costs about 25-30% of the price. The seller claims to only refund if there is something wrong with the product but the description is misleading and you won't know…

Well Done - Well Rack

This is the best and safest way to attach your canoe to the roof of an off-road vehicle. You bolt the racks to the roof rack rails, load the boat, then slide the rack to fit what you're carrying, tighten the large wing nut, then secure with the included straps. I have used them on several cars with roof racks and they have worked great. However, I found that the bolts were too long for some of the factory roof bars (the bolts made contact with the roof) and I had to buy shorter bolts. They use…

Very secure attachment to my SUV

I had to tow an old Grumman canoe 350 miles mostly on the freeway and I was concerned about the aerodynamics but it worked fine. Even at 65 km/h there was no movement to be seen. The straps were noisy at first, but I wrapped them tightly around the posts and the noise went away. I'm deducting 1 star for small quality issues. The threads of one of the screws were coated with plastic. It took me a while to figure out that I could use a screwdriver to scrape off the excess plastic. And it was…

Reliable stand! Best in Roof Racks

After using foam blocks for about 6 rides they broke and didn't help me in the Kansas cross winds. So I went for a more permanent solution and got these Malone Big Foots. The setup worked great on a 2010 Town and Country minivan with a factory roof rack. And when we returned home for 5 hours in a 30-40 mph crosswind these racks held the canoe in place. I stopped several times and waited to tighten the straps, but they were just as tight as they were at the start of the trip. I expect the little
