We bought a variety of shotguns to determine which was the best. That was the worst. Worked only 7 months and stopped working. Metabo assumes no liability. Will no longer buy Metabo products.

I bought this and used it on a project and found that the temperature is not accurate. I measured it with a high temp thermocouple, it was off by 10-20%. The temperature was constant and stable, only had a clear shift. Otherwise well built and solid.

Gave 4 stars just because the bearing in the motor sounds like it's failing. Great Heat Gun - Set the temperature and it will show you the actual temperature of the heat until it reaches the set temperature. Revine cool - send replacement. That's why I don't go to big stores anymore.

Have used it successfully at 250 and 340 degrees for drying paint and heating plastic to melting point. I'm pretty sure higher temperatures work well, although checking the gauge is the way to go. The digital temperature setting is unique among the competition and the price is pretty good. CONS: Slightly larger than the competition, and the jet air fittings that come with the kit are pretty basic and don't include the smaller fittings.

I bought this to sear the meat I am cooking in my sous vide oven. I saw it on the Sous Vide Everything youtube channel for frying. I've used a propane torch in the past that has frequently shut down and then had to be restarted. At the highest temperature, this heat gun takes a little longer to brown than a propane torch, but I like that there are no fumes to spoil the flavor and air quality. I bought this unit because it is 1500W and 8.8-17.7 CFM.

This is my first heat gun and I really like it. I have no reason to compare with other heat guns. I like the digital temperature display. The weapon is very light and heats up incredibly quickly. I used it to remove paint from an old metal porch glider and used it for hours. I knocked the gun off the table several times in the store. With use and abuse, the gun still performs great. The gun comes with some accessories which is just a bonus. I highly recommend this heat gun.

I bought this sous vide hair dryer. I'm sure it will be useful for many other purposes, but for now I'll cover that in my review.
