Moen 145058 Replacement Converts Standard Review

I have an old push/pull wash lock. The one with the holes on the plate at positions 5 and 7. I wanted the handle and plate to move left and right, aka posi-temp, with the holes at about positions 2 and 7. This is , so I can use the set. ADAPTER PLEASE. Went like clockwork. Product does what it is designed to do. If you can use a screwdriver, you can install this adapter. I upgraded my faucet and found it was a necessary part to set my old (1990's) 4 and 7 o'clock screw positions. The reason for 3 stars is the price. It's just a metal plate with a couple of bolt holes, and honestly Moen you changed the design. The adapter is solid bronze. It simply screws into existing holes. The problem arose when trying to insert new face screws. I didn't notice it at first, but the new bolts were pressing against the square corners of the valve. I took a dremel tool and rounded the top edge and bottom right edge and bingo even worked great. It's nice to have updated hardware, just check the clearance on the valve plate on the back where the new faceplate screws go.

Attention, modifications may be necessary, as in my case. I bought an old Moen valve and a new Moen Voss shower head and this adapter. The holes on the fairing do not match the holes on this adapter. Centered on trim 2 inches, that's 2 1/8 centered. - Even if you can tighten the screws, they won't be straight. I want to explain a little about this adapter. I also had some trouble installing this part to put a new fairing on my old Moentrol valve. I easily solved the problem by adding a small grinder to the corner of the valve that didn't allow the screw or part to be mis-seated. The problem is not with this part but with your valve behind it. This adapter allows you to upgrade your old Moen "Standard" valve and use the newer "Moentrol" fairing. It will not work with anything marked "posi-temp". I have an older Moen "standard" valve with two holes on the bottom and the adapter fits easily over the existing valve. The diagonal holes in the adapter do not line up with the holes in the new pad designed for Posi-Temp.
