Good idea, bad design

The metal was sticking out on the side that should have penetrated the wood. So smooth that even with the clamps it slid from all sides.

Pros
  • Handy part
Cons
  • Secret

Works but not for long

For drilling 36 holes at 45 degrees for deck railing. Towards the end the pilot hole was badly worn as the drill tried to go around the corner. I've done my job, but it's almost ruined.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • No instructions

Good idea, poor execution

Needed a little modification to fit. Stainless steel pipes are not fixed and proud on both sides. I decided to knock out all the pipes, apply CA glue and then reinstall flush to the floor. Too much work to get the purchased device working. I will not buy again.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Difficult to place on target

There is no easy way to position the block so that the drill is centered on the hole. It's hard enough to guide straight holes from the eye so that the target is in the center of the hole guide. But it is impossible to see the target hole when drilling at a 45 degree angle. At the current price, this tool is not worth its price.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Quick Guide

Cool, slight changes are possible.

Clear plastic is great for seeing your marks under the tool. It's as simple as it gets, and it's all you really need if you're like me (a hobby carpenter on a budget). Warning: The metal splints (albeit great ones) protruded about 1/32" at the top and bottom, so I shaved them off so they would sit flush on either side.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Contact Seller
