Black rubs off wood floor (I have a black floor) but seals poorly to prevent this. Thinner glass dome which surprised me to see it wasn't broken upon arrival BUT the entire item was packaged very well. It's a very good size and overall I'm satisfied.

I needed a sphere that wasn't too big or heavy and had a rounded top. That was excellent. Light but high quality, completely transparent, with a beautiful wooden stand that I didn't expect. Highly recommended. I only gave it 4 stars for the thickness because I felt I had to be very careful, even hand washing it, to keep it from breaking. Maybe not, I don't know, but it seems gentle but not too thin.

Daughter is making a special cake for the holidays and this year she said snow globe cake! Well it turned out fantastic. She baked and decorated a cake, bought inexpensive holiday decorations—Santa Claus and reindeer—at the Hobby Lobby for about $4, made a Christmas tree, and put everything in a globe. I added powdered sugar for the snow and holly fudge for the top. Comes well packaged and has been put on the shelf for next year. Wonderful.

I measure only 5.5 inches wide by 5 inches high (smaller still when it sinks almost 1/4 inch into the base). The internal dimensions are even smaller, I had to cut almost an inch off a 5.5 inch item to fit. Otherwise it looks great, withstood being banged around in my car for a while, totally unprotected. I would also recommend sanding lightly on the outside edges of the wood with 200+ grade sandpaper as the wood has a very rough/unfinished texture right away. I would buy it again but now that…
