Complete Scrap - Industrial Drill

Wow I can't believe these bits are junk. I'm confused that so many reviewers think these things are good. I suspect they don't know what a good step drill is. I assume people use them on easily drillable materials like plastic or plexiglass, but if you intend to use them on metal, don't buy them. Spend your money on a real step workout like Dewalt or Milwaukee. This is what I've used in the past and decided to buy a much cheaper set and boy do I regret it. I'll spend my money on a real set from

Caution! The size listed is smaller than the actual

Unfortunately I had to cut the hole to exactly ¾ (0.75) inches. The larger of the three Neiko 10193A titanium step drills, which should actually drill up to 0.75 inches, actually does not measure 0.75 inches, but only 0.02 inches. It doesn't work for me. I was able to cut ¼ (0.25) inch thick steel with oil with little effort at low speed and moderate power with my hand drill. However, I decided to install a .745" thick locking pin and it doesn't fit. Because it cuts so well I gave it 3 stars…

Extremely Powerful Drill Bits

I purchased this set of three step drill bits for about $10 on January 30, 2017. I have used them several times for drilling mild steel over the past 20 months and have had no complaints. Fast forward to today 8/20/2018 and I found out how good these beats are. I was repurposing an old bed frame and had to drill 24-3/16" diameter holes. Anyone who has worked with old bed frames knows how notorious they are for their hardness due to their high carbon content. I burned 6 twist drill bits and only

GREAT for turning small holes into big holes without changing nozzles!

I didn't even know these parts existed but damn I'm glad they existed! Although I've used one to help me repair a steel garage door, I find they drill wood just as well. In fact, they can easily replace (almost) all the drills I currently own. IMO, the only time you will NOT want to use one of these is when you need to drill a hole of a certain diameter - no more, no less. Then you will definitely want to use a conventional drill. However, if you're starting with a small hole and need to get…

IDEAL for drilling large holes in Plexiglas!

Sample Description: The hole closest to the camera is made with this product, all other uneven holes are from all other drill bits and bit types I've tried. This exercise is GOD SENT! I make neon signs and am trying to make the mounting holes in the acrylic plexiglass big enough to sell fancier mounting kits for my signs. After ripping through an entire acrylic test sheet, I found these drill bits. At first I didn't think he would because he drilled the pilot hole very slowly. As he began work,

Perfect fit for work

The task was to drill 3 holes in the handlebars of a motorcycle to be used for internal wiring. The bars are made from 14 gauge steel tubing. I wanted the center hole to be an oval about 5/8" x 1-1/8" so I started with a center punch and then a 3/16 as the pilot hole. Loading a short Neiko 1/2" drill bit into the drill press and using cutting oil made the oval nice and clean in minutes. The two smaller holes on either end of the rods were rounder and smaller. Part of my success comes from from…

Great performance for $

This Neiko 10193A Titanium Step Drill Set was a pleasant surprise! It was about 4 times cheaper than similar sets from better known brands in a big store but was great for my needs. I haven't tried the smaller two drill bits, but I used the largest step drill bit to drill ten 3/4" diameter holes in 1/2" thick stainless steel flat bar to make base plates for my boat's outboard mount. In combination with the use of a good cutting fluid and a low drilling speed (250 rpm) they cut metal evenly and…

More than worth your money!

So far, so good! Most of the reviews here seem pretty easy to do for them. Well, I wasn't easy with them. They'll throw 1/4" steel, they'll throw 3/8" steel, and then I pushed them to throw 1/2" steel! They're still cutting well after they've done it more than once have steps into the hole unless you want the biggest hole on the drill bit I made! You start with no hole but it's a little quicker to do a small drill bit first. The key is to go slow and to hold the heat! 1/ 2" steel - they weren't…
