This is more of a lamp than a night light. It's too bright to use as a night light, but too dark to read stories or do other things. When I first used it for my kids, I took it on a trip and used it as a night light, but I had to tuck it under the bed to keep the light out of the dust. Otherwise it would be too bright. It runs on AAA batteries, it has no rechargeable battery. I also don't think it came with a fork. USB cable only. So you have to find your own plug.

**Update: my toddler likes to play with it and drops it a lot. The plastic case containing the batteries started cracking so I decided to just order a new one because she loves this cloud so much.
