Ideal for preparing dosa (Indian savory pancakes).

Ideal for preparing dosa (savory Indian pancakes). Heats up quickly and evenly, with a small rim to prevent spattering but low enough to ensure good batter distribution. The dosa comes out thin and crispy and heats up quickly enough that you don't have to wait before making the next one. In fact, I had to set the temperature to "3" to avoid overheating. Recommended.

multiple use! suitable for small appliances

I bought this for my brother for Christmas because he loves pancakes. He really likes making pancakes on it, but he's found a new (almost better) use for it. My family LOVES Mexican food so we use it as a tortilla warmer. Seriously changing the rules of the game. It's so easy, quick, and makes the tortillas perfect for burritos or whatever else you're making. If you don't reheat the tortilla before making a burrito, try it too. It changes the world. Definitely an excellent pancake, but it warms

Pros
  • stylish and modern design
Cons
  • fragile

The material is very sensitive to scratches. I agree, non-stick coating is easy to scratch, but this one got the job done too soon. It gets very hot for the first 3 uses. I was very impressed. However, after the third use, the heating is not uniform. The sides don't get as hot as the middle. The reason I bought this was to make dosas (Indian pancakes). I have a gas flame and due to the nature of the heat source, it's difficult to get even distribution. I thought this would solve my problem. I…

I love this crepe maker

I love this crepe maker! I've had it for over six months now and I've made all sorts of pancakes on it. After a few months of use I got a little more creative and started making pancakes on it, as well as using it for quesadillas, sausage, bacon and a host of other things I could think of. One thing I would like to add is a wooden stick spreader tool. After a few uses I found that the spreader sticks to the pancakes and can ruin the pancakes. But it's easy to fix. I sanded the putty knife with…

I recommend leaving it enabled when you first get it from.

There is a slight smell when you first turn on the grill. I recommend leaving it on for at least 20 minutes the first time, then turning it off until you use it for cooking for the first time. The smell disappears after 1-2 more uses. The instructions provided with this unit clearly state DO NOT run this unit for more than one hour. I saw several 1 star reviews on this product because people said it broke after the first time. I suspect they left the plate on longer than recommended and fried…

and it's great for rising dough

I've had it for almost two years and use it regularly. It's much more than a pancake pan; We use it for both cooking and reheating flatbreads, cooking papus and gordita (the hottest temperature), grilled cheese sandwiches and quesadillas (3.5-4), pancakes, baking English muffins and crumpets. On the lowest setting, with a round ceramic casserole dish filled with water, it's a yoghurt maker. Warm it up over low heat and then turn it off and it's great for rising dough. The 12" Cal a Phon glass…
