This coat is well tailored. The reason for the 4 stars is the clasp. It's pretty naughty to zip up a squirming puppy. Otherwise very good value.

I measured my dog who is a standard shihtsu and weighs around 14-15 pounds. She had to sit tall. It was very tight in the chest and short in length. I sent it back for a very large one. I just had to tighten the straps. The length is much longer than tall but will work just fine. Love the fact that it has built in suspension and is black so dirt doesn't show through. She seems to like it too! So order one size bigger!

Bought a large coat for my 2 year old beagle and she seems to love it. A little tight, but not tight. The only issue we had, like others, was the zipper came loose. Instead of tightening the original zipper further, I used a slightly larger replacement and was able to thread it through the original zipper. Replacement zips can be found fairly cheaply here at Revain and you can get multiple sizes and styles.

This jacket is very easy to put on and take off. The built-in harness lasted 4 months and I don't see any detachment from the fur. I don't worry about my pet's fur getting caught in the zipper because there is an extra layer next to the zipper. her hands are full and I have to help her up the stairs, I grab her dishes.
