This is a good product if you just need a replacement NuTone bathroom fan and don't want to buy a quieter option. It's easy to install and works well. Purchased to replace NuTone 8663 rp "b" which is long obsolete. Despite the experience of others, I actually had no trouble cutting the fork or fitting this motor assembly (see picture). The fit was spot on, you had to slide the fan into the case (use your finger to cut out the connector) but it was perfect, no obstructions. Item claimed as a direct replacement but as others have pointed out the socket slot does not fit. See the first photo with the new mounting plate on top of the old one. This is probably a common problem. Also, my replacement arrived bent. See the second picture where the fan needs to be aligned with the mounting plate. This is a good fan. I replaced an old 60cfm fan that had a dying motor and I can definitely tell the difference is in the airflow/moisture removal. With my old fan, my bathroom would still fill up with moisture while showering, and now my bathroom mirror hardly fogs up even after a long shower. The fan is louder than my old fan, but not by much, and the difference in airflow is a good trade-off for me.
