SURE-VENT PVC AIR ADMITTANCE VALVE: Provides the ideal venting solution for island sinks, remote bathroom groups, and remodel jobs by eliminating the need to be connected directly into the stack vent. EQUALIZES PRESSURE: Keeps the sewer and atmospheric pressures equalized, allowing water to drain freely. ONE-WAY VALVE: Allows air to enter the plumbing drainage system when negative pressures develop without the use of a vent extended to open air and to prevent sewer gases from escaping into the building. SENSITIVE TO PRESSURE CHANGES: Closes by gravity and seals the vent terminal at zero differential pressure (no flow conditions) and under positive internal pressures. SPECIFICATIONS: 1.5" x 2" size is approved to handle up to 3" vent pipe and has a 24 DFU (Drainage Fixture Unit) capacity, and complies to ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) Standard 1050 and 1051 for use a secondary vent.

Misleading advertiser

This is my second order from this supplier which I have to return because it is wrong. I needed a 1 1/2" floor drain vent gasket. Both of my orders seemed to claim they would work. Neither worked. I even called their engineering department to double check and they got it wrong when they said it would work Someone out there doesn't know what they are doing and is offering misleading advertising and advice.

Perfect Solution - Rough Plumbing

After installing a non-vented double stainless steel kitchen sink and having a drain problem, I started looking. I came across a video about using AAV. This seemed to be the most discussed and used, so I gave it a try. Glue and I was ready to go. Works perfectly! The sinks fit in like a charm! NO gurgles or bubbles. This device works as a sliding hardware in 1 1/2" PVC (like I used) or 2" PVC.

Not suitable for slow drain pipes

I was happy to install two new AAVs that I bought for my kitchen sink and tub, both of which drain very slowly. I was disappointed that no difference was noticed with either installation, in fact the kitchen sink seems to be draining more slowly than before. Both installed as recommended and just like the 1 year old Studor Vent I have under my sink which works great with no issues. This bleed valve can prevent excess pressure from being sucked out of the P-traps, but if you're looking for aโ€ฆ

Didn't work for me (sewage treatment plant)

I used this on a 2 inch washing machine vent line at a sewage treatment plant, not a city sewer line. I have a mobile home that is connected to a sewage treatment plant. .When I drain the RV tanks, the gases from the septic tank and the odor are pushed back through the vent line into the room where the washer (and diverter valve) is located. My thoughts. The valve cannot withstand the pressure created when the large volume of wastewater (more than 20 gallons) is immediately discharged into theโ€ฆ

They prevented the P-traps from being sucked out by putting them on top of other devices that weren't sucking!

It's a bit odd because I actually sent these valves back for an Oatey 39239 Sure Vent Air Admittance Valve 6 DFU installation kit with a white hose adapter (so I have all the hardware I needed right away), but that was a check on those valves that steered me in the direction I needed to move. We ended up in a new area where we didn't know many people and hired a bad general contractor to build our dream home. Ignoring the advice of a good plumber who told him there should be many moreโ€ฆ
