I bought this to store the cereal my wonderful mother-in-law makes for my husband and I so I don't have to 'borrow' her Tupperware because we're always honest forgot to return them. Overall I like the canister but the rubber on the top (see photo) keeps coming loose on one side even after I try to put it back in. Although I will try to glue it. I'm not a picky person, but for such a price I didn't have to glue. It does the job though

I am so dissatisfied with it. The o-ring in the lid doesn't stay in place, so I can't open and close the lid without it falling out - ever. And when I press it down with my fingers, it still doesn't close properly. Since I use this as a compost box on the counter, this is a real problem. I had one from another brand that I really liked until it rusted 10 years later - I hated this one since the day I got it a month ago.

These containers have a soft, plastic-like gasket that provides a seal between the canister and the lid. But the seal doesn't stay in place when the top opens and closes. My use of this bin requires me to open and close it half a dozen times a day or more, and at least a few times a day I have to change the padding to keep the bin closed properly. The one on the right in the photo I bought at Walmart ($27), you can see it even has traction. the handle and is 8 inches high. I bought this to replace an identical Oggi container we bought about 12 years ago which ended up breaking. The quality does not match the original. The lid is made of quite thin plastic. The o-ring is not very tight on the lid, so there is a slight "play" from side to side every time the lid is opened or closed.
