Works perfectly. for grinding wheels and discs

I've been using them for many years, I can't beat them. I've used the ones that cost over $100 and don't wear out, but you can't compare how well they work. Hit it with a whetstone to clean and further sharpen it. I have enough for about a year, I sharpen the chain every day. I deflate my chain with an air compressor, it keeps the wheel from clogging with oil and other things, and it needs cleaning from time to time, which prolongs its life.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Quality product for abrasives and finishes

I sharpen chains for my saw myself and have found Oregon sharpeners to be professional tools. These grinding wheels are an exact replacement for the original and appear to last a long time leaving a very sharp edge. Highly recommended. They didn't come directly from Revane, but from an outside source; Northern instrument. I was a little unhappy with their shipping cost, which was almost half the cost of the disc, and it took nearly two weeks to ship. You can choose other providers if you want…

High quality chainsaw depth gauge wheel. One of the few in this size.

A quality grinding wheel makes a world of difference to the cheaper wheels found on some smaller chain grinders. This is one of the few 1/4" thick grinding wheels available for many small chain grinders. Used primarily for adjusting the height of depth gauges ("rakers"). However, due to its width, it doesn't fit all grinders, either not the ones with the correct 7/8" bore. Some smaller grinders don't have enough threads on the shaft or enough clearance under the cover for this wheel.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors

Need a whetstone to round the edges before sharpening the chains

This stone comes with 90 degree edges. You will go through several chains and get the edge of the chain to 90 degrees before the wheel becomes almost round. I had to put mine on a grinding wheel to get it closer. After that it works great. The fact that nothing is said about it which is why I only gave it a 3. Now that it's cracked it works like a charm. So either get a shaped stone to keep your first few chains, or save an old worn one to start that stone. I found that unfortunately no one…
