Starter Yamaha 200hp

This product fits my Yamaha 200 2 stroke with no problems. Everything was fine until I started the engine. The starter did not start right out of the box. I had to open the starter and release the jammed bendix. It's new, it's not necessary. But in the end everything worked and the engine started immediately. 3/5 for the price and quality of the product. Quick cheap repair. Buy it. Don't expect it to take too long.

The starter Bendix has the wrong drive wheel!

Starter drive gear (Bendix) wrong. It's slightly overpriced (0.025). This causes the teeth of the starter and flywheel to catch and break the internal parts of the starter. There is also no shim kit for it, the old bendix will not fit the new starter, pinion play is critical, 1994 Yamaha 200TXRS, 3rd starter. Much luck! save and do it yourself. Two 0.025 washers on outside of starter. Perfect ground clearance!

Check the gel packs for damage.

I'm giving this a 2 because the supply of "gel pack or something" broke and hit the starter. This was only discovered after I installed a starter that would not allow the starter to engage. Instead of taking it off and returning it like everyone would happily do because they are waiting for it to be fixed, I took it apart to get the parts out and then put it back together. I didn't realize the top had a right and wrong way to go back and indeed Murphy's law kicked in and I misadjusted it so I…
