💻 Supercharge Your MacBook: OWC 480GB Aura Pro X2 SSD Upgrade Kit with Tools & Envoy Pro Enclosure (Mid 2013-2017 MacBook Air & Late 2013-Mid 2015 MacBook Pro) Review

This SSD upgrade worked for me right away in a 2017 MacBook Air. The instructions could have been a little clearer, but the manufacturer's website had more detailed instructions that I was able to follow. Installation took about 5 minutes, then about an hour to reinstall the OS on a new hard drive and transfer files from the old one. Great experience, would buy again if needed and most definitely. would recommend it to others.

Installing the OWC 'Upgrade' hard drive was easy following their instructions to clone the original Apple internal hard drive and then install your hard drive provided that Mac OS was High Sierra+, however after 10 days I get a brick with a crossed out circle and I had to reinstall Apple's original OEM. The second generation of OWC's Aura SSD replacement does not appear to be any more reliable than the first generation for Macpro 6.1 (2013).

I watched a lot of YouTube and OWC videos to find installation guides. It was easy to transfer data from "old" SSD via Time Machine backup. The processing time for 750GB of data was about 24 hours (SSD installation less than 1 hour, data backup and migration 23 hours). Maybe back up and transfer your data before bed.
