Excellent nets for washing. Tried the cheaper ones. big mistake. They are very durable and look good. Very easy to empty. I bought a house that doesn't have a garbage chute. A while. Until there is recycling, they are a necessity. I can tell you that I will leave these filters in after installing the slide.

Sink strainers are made of stainless steel (as opposed to the rubber base I thought I was buying). Because they are made of stainless steel, they are not flexible and must be scraped or banged against the bin to clean up food debris. They were too long for my sink so I gave them four stars because of that and because they weren't easy to clean.

We bought a similar item from the dollar store to save a few bucks. After a few months of use, the fake silver finish on our previous item had come off. Since we usually prefer OXO products in the kitchen I was hoping they would have a version of this item. It sits perfectly over my sink drain, is durable and easy to clean, just the quality I appreciate about OXO. Would definitely buy again.

I searched and searched for a filter that worked and bought it because the price was good. I'm pretty sure if I used them as intended, by pulling the pin to turn the basket inside out to clean, I wouldn't last very long. Instead, I tried tapping the rim of the colander against the rim of the kitchen bin, and voila, the food went straight into the bin without having to turn the colander inside out. Since we don't have a garbage chute and are standing on a septic tank, I'm always looking for garbage collectors for kitchen sinks. What I like about these OXO Good Grips is that they are dark in color so they don't show as much dirt. They can also be easily folded down for cleaning. My 4 stars because the bar is flimsy on the outside - if I could ONLY find a garbage trap with a strong edge that would add some weight I'd be a happier chunk cleaner - but those aren't them.
