Do not buy this scanner!

The scanner broke right after the return period had expired. Zero product support from manufacturer. When I described the problem I was told to send it back to the company I bought from. Terrible product, terrible support. Buyers beware.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Review update! in slide and negative scanners

5 stars Revain.com For customer service I just got a new scanner replacing Revain.com. It works. I've already started scanning old slides and negatives. Being unfamiliar with the software, I was able to get some good scans. Upgrade to 4 stars. Some scanned images will also be uploaded.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No work

Add at least $50 to the price of the software

The included software keeps crashing on my MacBook and cannot be updated. The macOS Image Capture utility cannot detect the scanner. The only way to use this thing is to buy third party scanner software. You might be able to get by with a basic app, but you can actually spend another $100 on software.

Pros
  • Nice packaging

Amazing resolution! But use VueScan and get a lifetime guarantee

This is an amazing scanner! Image quality is amazing (although the claimed 10,000dpi isn't true - it's more like 4300dpi). I don't remove tags because all scanner manufacturers do. And I love that you can also make a strip of negatives. The included software is ok, but not outstanding. I recommend buying VueScan to unlock more power. But. I had to iterate over 9 units to get 4 workers. Not the best track record! And after a few months of relatively light use, it's already heading south. Their…

Good scanner but horribly bundled Silverfast software is useless

Scanner hardware seems fine, although the first one that shipped was completely dead. I have 2 starts due to a dead scanner and ridiculous software bundled with Silverfast. The included Silverfast software is beyond useless. It doesn't support the scanner hardware very well and causes the scanner to spin constantly, slowing down performance significantly. It often freezes on Mac and has a very dumb user interface with a lot of unnecessary features for post-processing an image (which is done…

Inconsistent results

Working. It really works. Unfortunately, that rarely works. Pros: β€’ Ability to get very clear scans β€’ Theoretical possibility of batch scanning β€’ Good color β€’ Focus! Both automatic and manual Cons: β€’ Slow scanning β€’ Although batch scanning is possible - results tend to suffer β€’ Film transport issues β€’ Random visual/optical issues like vertical and horizontal stripes - they are incompatible, which I think is worse β€’ Potential macOS compatibility issues - or maybe the scanner is just weird, I'm…
