Works well but not with larger diameter wire.

I like these plugs. They make life very easy. Until you try to use them on 23 AWG wire. (Optional Category 6 TruCable shielded riser) It's also a bit of a chore to get the insulation into the connector for a nice clean crimp. The first took me a good twenty minutes to turn on the plug. Install them on a regular cat. 6 takes about 20 seconds.) It took a few needle points (to get the wire through as it has a tendency to twist) and, as other people have mentioned, a good 2 inches of striped wire…

Works well but needs maintenance

I used Truecable CAT6 23AWG straight lay cable connectors. Worked very well if you're interested. You'll need to completely unwind the wires and make them long enough (about 2 inches) to have enough length to grab. When stringing the conductors together, you must carefully cut them without bending the ends or kinking the ends. Do not use force when inserting ladders. If it's very hard, a conductor is probably stuck in the same hole as the adjacent wire. Works well when done right. I needed time

Works well for Cat 6 cable for me

This tool has worked well for me as a newbie wiring lots of outlets in a new house. The biggest challenge (for me) to overcome was getting the wires straight enough and in the right order. After that, the last part is pretty painless with this tool. The wires are cut clean, the crimp seems solid. So far all my connections have been tested as "good". I've never used a non-pass-through method, so I can't compare them.

GREAT. I don't understand bad reviews

These things are AMAZING! I genuinely think the bad reviews on this and the "Klein Tools VDV226-110" crimping tool are coming from people who don't know how to make ends meet. I've made thousands of ends and this end and tool saves a lot of time. I just did 100 ends and every one of them turned out perfect, no repeats. You still need to pull, straighten, and arrange the wires before inserting them into the connector, but having them pass through the ferrule allows you to ensure the colors are…

Difficult to use for cables and connections

I have been making patch cords and point to point cables for 23 years, since 1998. I've made hundreds! When I installed a new patch panel and switch at home, I finally ran out of connectors from the batch I bought 10-15 years ago. They've been passable and I've had very few cancellations over the years. The thing is, doing it has almost become second nature to me. Well, it seemed like almost everything available today was pass-through, so I bought a new tool and connectors. In fact I bought 3…

NOT for 23 AWG cables and accessories

I purchased these based on a review here that they will work with the 23 AWG TrueCable I purchased. Huge mistake. They are NOT rated for 23 AWG. Of course if you have time you can make it work, I managed to make 3 cables although each connector took 20-30 minutes. I returned them and bought ITBEBE 50 pieces. ://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G2Q1KSD. Day and night, less than 5 minutes per plug. Save yourself the headache by using 23 AWG and purchasing the correct connectors. The rating is not for

What you need

I use these with 23 AWG CAT6 copper cable. They are designed to allow the cable jacket to be inserted up to 1/2 inch into the connector. This allows me to cut eight wires with a pair of very small wire cutters and then pull the cable out 1mm. This places the ends of the eight wires INSIDE the connector, so I can guarantee there are no shorts. I use this method because I don't have a new RJ45 crimping tool that crimps and cuts eight wires at a time. My old crimping tool plus small wire cutters…
