🔐 Permatex 24200 Medium Strength Threadlocker Blue: Reliable 6 ml Solution Review

Have an old Wacker weed blower and the nut keeps coming loose after about 30 minutes of use. The nut holds the flywheel in place. Eventually I got tired of loosening the 10 screws on the bottom cover to tighten it every time. I put a dense Permatex (blue) on this thread and there were no problems. I check every 30 minutes of use. After being tightened three times, the nut is still tight, although it is intended to rotate with the shaft. Problem solved. Product does what it says on the tin, locks threads without cementing the screws for life. I had to install some small metal screws into the polycarbonate. The bolts kept loosening and I didn't want to tighten them with 75 pounds of torque. The tiniest drop of Permatex held it in place, and when I had to unscrew a trial screw to get more, it came out with the expected pressure. I've since used this for door hinges that tend to come loose and the problem is gone. Bravo Permatex!

I have used Permatex and Loctite for 45 years, Permatex to form gaskets and Loctite to fasten nuts and bolts. significantly less than Loctite and tried it out. It also works well outdoors where there is a lot of vibration. If necessary, the blue screw lock can be removed by heating. Red Loctite will be with you forever. Great product, it works. I can't say more about it EXCEPT thought I'd share my "discovery" in using Threadlocker. In my case, I needed some length to reach the screw in a deep, narrow space.
