Pfister S10 430Y Avalon 3 Handle Shower Review

Apparently this product does not come with a three handle valve part. And I didn't see anything to suggest it was necessary, and since I bought it and installed the plumber, I screwed up the plumber's visit because it wasn't included. I finally watched it again and noticed something was missing as I looked through the individual questions and answers. It should be clarified that this was not included in the product description for non-installers.

I was having trouble finding a replacement for our outdated 3 valve bath/shower faucet. This included everything I needed. I didn't have to damage any existing tiles, it was easy to install and works great. A quick thank you to the tsl5150 reviewer who kindly posted photos with his review. At the time of purchase, the product description alone was not sufficient in terms of what was included, so photos are much needed and appreciated.

They look great fitted. I love the brushed nickel. We had 3 old pens. The only thing we had to do was replace the old valve. I have a Pfister for these pens to work with. Well the valve came with extensions for the new grips so you could just slide them on. This set also included handle extensions. Now I have an extra set. I am very satisfied with the quality of workmanship of these substitutes. The handles are heavy and of good quality; much better than the interchangeable units we considered "universal options" in big stores. I think I made a mistake buying these thinking I would save money by not going to the plumber to swap out all my plumbing and replace them with something modern. I called Pfister customer service and they said this is the only other type of replacement fairing that could be used in my existing roughing kit. This may or may not be true. Overall I am very happy with the product. It was easy to install and looks great. The only problem was that the stems that came with them were old rubber grommets, not ceramic as described on the box they came in. It wasn't a big problem because the ceramic valves I had didn't leak. The reversing stem valve I had was the same seal as the one I received, although the new one had a 1/4 turn instead of the 1/2 turn. replaced. (12-2-17) This is a beautiful set and I really wanted to like it but it's kind of weird dealing with what we have now. I'll try again tomorrow and see what I can do. (See UPDATE!)
