Fits an Old Craftsman Drill with Modification

After looking inside my 30 year old Craftsman 3/8" drill and comparing the factory power cord to the pictures on Revain I thought I would give this new cable a try. The original cable was hardwired to the trigger, so I cut the wires off the old cable and snipped the ends off the new cable. in the photo) and the drill works great again.

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons

Sturdy, durable power cord

I converted my percussion hammer, a vibraphone (ie vibrator) that has an electric motor to drive fan blades in the resonance tubes. I bought this power cord to replace the original 1976 power cord. To accommodate my needs I had to cut the molded bracket off which took some time but left me with a solid power cord. Fork is good and reliable. My project is complete and the power cord works great.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Modern

Even with boot protection!

My Bosch reciprocating saw (saw) had a damaged cord. I ordered this cable and it was OEM perfect, even with a protective strain relief housing. The ends of the wires were soldered to provide good insertion and contact points with the screw terminals inside the saw body. The entire process from start to finish took less than 20 minutes. Highly recommended for repairing double insulated wired tools (they do NOT have a ground wire or ground pin on the plug).

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

A good spare cable

My application was a Makita grinding machine. This cable is a good rubber coated flexible cable. It was 6 inches shorter than the original and slightly larger in diameter. I was able to reuse the stock stretcher but it wasn't easy to get the cord into the mount. A slight increase in diameter provides a very tight fit. I had to soak it in hot water and grease the cord to install it in the tensioner. The cable had a mating plug (eyelet) already attached to the hot wire. I've used a grinder since…

Pros
  • a handy thing
Cons
  • almost never
