Easy install best for beginners

Great upgrade from stock. Need a mini starter due to overheating of the old one. Easy to install and works great even when the car is warm.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • I will add later

Great solution for starters and alternators

Works great and gives a much better clearance with my new headers. Heat transfer from the manifolds was an issue with the stock starter.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Damaged

Olds 442 is perfect.

It was the perfect start for me. Fits perfectly to my '67 Olds 422 with long headers. The car starts faster than ever. I am very impressed

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Not automatic

too much torque for my 1967 Olds 442

These new starters have too much torque for my 1967 Olds 442. I actually chipped a tooth on my transmission flywheel. I'm sure that's a good start for a new car. I had to remove the starter and order a new one.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not bad

Power Master Starter

Starter works great. Be sure to follow the instructions for checking clearances. I had to make a thicker spacer between the motor and the body to get the proper clearance from the flex plate. It is better if an additional gasket is included with the starter.

Pros
  • Solid Finish
Cons
  • Interval

Great upgrade for muscle cars

I can't get enough of this starter. Literally almost half the size of the original starter on my 421 Tri-Power. Much more air to breathe under the four jets. Flips my 12-to-1 compression engine in my '65 GTO like it's a four-cylinder. High-quality anodized screws and everything screwed together without seals. I cannot recommend this starter enough and Revain beats two well known companies in the hot rod catalog. If you own a Pontiac muscle car, you should.

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Running speed

Perfect! Spins my big block like a top. Just screwed. No "R " clamp

Can't speak for durability but this little starter spins my big block like a top. Kate too. Easy installation and full customization with clean headers. Very happy. Came with 2 pads, I needed 4 on my 71 old one. The OEM had two that I reused. There is no "R" connection to bypass the coil ballast resistor. However, since it is so easy to start the engine by simply leaving it unplugged, this is not a problem for most applications. If it's just a 20A diode, take it and connect it to the "S"…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket

That's why you buy from Manf.

Powermaster is the brand EVERYONE uses when it comes to high torque starters. They're relatively affordable and give you so much extra room to work, especially on an A-body vehicle where space is at a premium on the driver's side with the Z-bar, clutch linkage, battery cables, speedometer cables, light wiring, brake lines, crossmembers and exhaust ! It also seems to go well with my Lakewood hat. The box was dented and had holes in it, but surprisingly the Revain box was immaculate. It was…

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • High Price
