Huge current in a small form factor

It's hard to imagine that this little thing can put out 100 amps. It's about the size of a large cigar box and just a tiny bit the size of my 2, count them earlier than 2 large 50 amp chargers. It tests your battery's power rail and boosts it to the voltage required for 3rd stage 'volumetric float charging'. Connected to the bus from this charger a little warmed up. Enormous current. I bought this to charge my battery quickly, either from my Kohler industrial backup power station or from my…

Disgusting quality. So disappointing.

First of all, the instructions are very poorly written. It was about dialing the device according to your specific settings. By default it tried to charge my batteries at 13.6 volts but it didn't fully charge them. So I followed the instructions and turned the indicated screw while watching the voltage output on my meter. I wanted a charge voltage of 14.4 and a hold voltage of 13.4. So I started turning the Philips adjustment screw and the voltage immediately jumped to 16.6 and never dropped…

  • The best in its niche

No 4-Stage Auto Charger - No Auto Battery Balance

Ordered this item because it is advertised as a 4-Stage Charger, which in current industry jargon means 4-Stage Intelligence (Automatic) Function . It's not, it's just a 3-stage smart charger, although I haven't physically tested that. If you expect automatic charge level control from this, it won't (according to the manual), but the battery leveling function is essential for battery care and longevity. The manual says "100A and 3-Stage Charge Option" on the front. Inside there is a section…

Powerful and stable

I installed a power meter and charged the energy-hungry pack with 32 batteries. I have a 100 amp unit. It produces a stable 80 amps. Sometimes I see it rising a little higher. My brother hooked it up the wrong way and the fuses blew. Replace the fuses and everything will work great. The fan is quiet and appears to have variable speed, rarely turning on when the current is less than 20 amps. The voltage is very stable and the device outputs a higher voltage during the first bulk charge, but then

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Expensive

I have been buying Powermax inverters since 2012 when my shop suggested everyone to buy them. Among the 20 or so people who bought one, it turned out that 80% of us failed within 2 years and we paid over $200 for it. I had to send mine in for service once, the service response was pretty terrible/impossible but it's been going on ever since so I bought another one in 2018 when it failed here on Amazon. First mistake. This charger failed again after about 1.5 years, just stopped charging. Again,

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Long delivery time
