This item will NOT fit the attachment it was designed for. This is NOT a clutch as it should be. I bought 3 of these to downsize a 4 1/2 hose to 2 1/2 and they all need couplers. The friction end is useless. Powertech mislabels/misrepresents their products. I am returning all 3 today.

Look at another reviewer's sectional view which shows that the 'rounded' elbow isn't actually rounded. Inside is a large square block of plastic, presumably to aid in molding, which severely restricts airflow. I'm sticking with straight 90 degree bends that at least don't shrink the pipe.

No problem, just note that if you're putting this on a fitting (not hose) you'll probably need a collar. I used this to route the hose to where it joins my vacuum to reduce tight bends. Thanks to the splice sleeve, it fits well and securely. At the end of the hose, the outside diameter is perfect for an adequate fit on most 4" flexible hoses (the clamp is needed for safety only).

I was excited about this product when I saw the picture on Revain but what I got was a very different material and texture. It is an extremely hard and heavy transparent PVC that is bend reinforced to the point where it is only 1.5 inches in inner diameter. And it's not even smooth, it's rectangular, so it completely restricts airflow. I'll probably end up just using one hose as this isn't the only 90 degree 2-1/2 elbow that has this problem.

poor description of the topic, as other reviewers have pointed out in the past. Too bad I didn't take the time to read those old reviews before ordering. what is wrong with this company? . They never seem to have improved the description of the item as recommended by those old reviews. I've never heard of Powertec. It must be an exotic specialty company with their own sizes to match. The product is too expensive, so I'm sending it back instead of throwing it in the trash.

I have to say right away that I'm an entrepreneur, I have about 10 vacuum cleaners and several automatic vacuum cleaners - that's no good. The idea is good, the execution lousy. It contains the identifier 2 7/32. I measured with calipers and got 2 1/32 - no wonder none of my Ridgid/Fein/Makita/Sears hoses fit (did I mention I have a lot of vacuums?).
