🌪️ Efficient Dust Collection with POWERTEC 70106 Y-Fitting Hose Connector, Black/4-Inch Size Review

I liked everything about this plug because it was exactly what I was looking for - durable, good quality and at a reasonable price. This connector was cheaper and better quality than the ones I checked at BOTH hardware stores.

This product does exactly what it is supposed to do. The ends are slightly thinner than the main body so you can put the dust collection hoses on top. My jet band saw has two dust connections and this allows me to use a DC hose to the adapter and two short hoses from that adapter to the saw. The price is reasonable too. I can recommend it.

Installed a second bath fan in the master bathroom but didn't want to install a third wall fan. Since there's a good chance my two bathrooms will be used at the same time, I used Y to connect the new vent to the existing second tub vent and prevent a backflow to ensure it doesn't spill back into the other bathroom . The Y is very strong and properly sized for a 4 inch duct and reverse wind is eliminated.

This is better than the metal available at the hardware store. It has blunt edges so if I put flexible aluminum tubing over it the edge doesn't try to cut into the pipe. It also doesn't have an obvious joint like metal joints, which are folded sheet metal, so there's less air leakage. The only downside I see is that it can tear if you overtighten the hose clamp and it may not like the heat. . But for my application of redirecting ventilation, it's perfect.

Used with 4" galvanized round tube on my dust collection system where line connections were required. They were much cheaper than round galvanized duct tees and were compatible with round duct, plastic fittings and flexible hose. Much better than using loss-saving haircuts. You will also need to connect a copper wire connecting the round channels for grounding. Good work. I used this product to install two bathroom extractor fans. One of our bathrooms is 8 feet wide and 17 feet long, with a toilet at one end and a shower at the other.
