POWERTEC 70136 4 Inch 2 Inch Reducer Review

This adapter was the recommended accessory for Dusting Rousseau 5000. I know some reviewers have complained that it doesn't fit, which seems to be true. Some people have used a flexible rubber connector and some people have used duct tape to attach it to the Rousseau anther. Works as described. However, the dimensions shown are HOSE dimensions. This allows you to connect a 4" hose (e.g. from the dust collector) to a 2.5" hose (e.g. to the miter saw or router table). As others have noted, the outlet on your saw or the inlet on your dust collector is the same size as the larger side of the cone, so you can't connect it directly to your machine. I bought 4 of these. One for each of my 4 port woodworking machines. Now I know I should have read the description a little better. I bought them because they were cheaper than Rockler. This product is perfect for connecting my 4" dust collection hose to the smaller hoses on my three old Shop Vac models - 'Aqua-Vac' , Original, and 12 Gal Heavy Duty Wet/Dry. My 4" hose is Powertec 70160 with Powertec 70193 quick disconnects with screw ends clamped on each end. I bought a new Laguna 14 Twelve bandsaw and had to hook up my shop vacuum to collect dust. I bought this PowerTec gearbox because I knew it would be a perfect match for my workshop vacuum cleaner. And I knew in advance that it would be the same diameter as my 4" dust outlet on my Laguna, so I knew it wouldn't just slide over my dust outlet.
