Do the job with confidence - replace your worn components with the leader in performance center links: Proforged. WHAT IS A CENTER LINK? A center link (also known as a drag link) is part of your vehicle’s steering system - it ties various steering components together to allow your wheels to turn. Center links are built with a ball-and-socket design, just like your hip, and need to be replaced as they wear out. A worn center link causes poor handling and makes it difficult or impossible to achieve an alignment, which leads to rapid tire wear. Replacing your worn center link gives a noticeable improvement in steering feel, handling, and safety.

Bad Steering Component for Automotive Enthusiasts

As a result of my tests, I determined that this steering component is not worth the investment. Although it is greasable and coated it did not improve the handling of my performance car. .

Pros
  • Greasable and coated
Cons
  • Did not improve handling

Disappointing Steering Component

The greasable coated center failed to meet my expectations. As a loyal customer of automotive performance parts and accessories, I am disappointed in the lack of quality in this product. As a result of my tests, I determined that the steering system suffered greatly from the use of this component. The only pro was the ease of installation but it was overshadowed by the cons - poor performance and durability. Overall, this product does not live up to the standards of the industry and i would not

Pros
  • Greasable for easy maintenance and longer lifespan
Cons
  • Requires regular greasing to prevent wear and tear

This fits my '64 Buick Sklark

This fitted my convertible 64 Skylark exactly. Remember that there are 2 different sized steering parts. This one is 1/16 smaller. It was an opportunity to upgrade to "Premium" which is 7/8. The easiest way to check this is by the size of the nut on the link/middle link. If you have 11/16 nuts holding this part in place, you have the smaller one. Hope that helps. I had to return a few parts. Even the rod couplers are different, so make sure you have them before ordering.

Pros
  • WHAT IS THE CENTRAL JOINT? The center link (also called the brake link) is part of your vehicle's steering system. It connects the various steering components together and allows the wheels to turn. Just like your hips, the center links are ball-bearing mounted and will need to be replaced when they wear out. A worn center link reduces handling and makes it difficult or impossible to achieve camber, leading to rapid tire wear. Replacing a worn center link results in a noticeable improvement in steering feel, handling and safety.
