Second use: pipe fitting

I bought it for car assembly. However, they didn't work because they were the wrong size or poorly finished, but because the car was too finicky. But I put them to good use. I installed a female threaded brass nipple on my bong and used one of the plugs to close it off when not in use to prevent water from spilling. good for other purposes. I'm sure I'll find something here soon.

Pros
  • fitting
Cons
  • old

Regular pipe threads are smaller and don't seal

They seemed to screw in unusually deep. I've noticed this with two separate assemblies, 1/8"NPT and 1/2"NPT. I found it a little strange, but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to test the leak until 2 months later. 1/8" leaks (gauge adapter) and feels the same as the one I put in the fuel pump (not tested yet). 8" outlet on 2 different parts from 2 different suppliers. 1/2" threads in the engine block but based on the feel I'm pretty sure it's probably leaking as well. Not great as not that…

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
